Export Animation

Animation export allows you to capture the currently playing animation and save it as a GIF file.

Animations are exported as GIF files (Graphics Interchange Format):

  • Supports transparency (alpha channel)
  • Widely compatible with most platforms and applications
  • Can be looped automatically when viewed
  • File size depends on resolution, frame count, and encoding settings

Step 1: Play an Animation

  1. Select an animation from the Animation list (located below the viewport)
  2. Wait for the animation to start playing
  3. The animation should be visible in the viewport

The animation must be playing for export to work.

Step 2: Export

  1. Click the "Export" button
  2. A progress indicator may appear showing export progress
  3. Wait for the export to complete

Step 3: Find Your Export

  1. Click the Open Export Folder button to open the export folder in your file explorer
  2. Find the GIF: Exported animation files use a specific naming format: CharacterName_AnimationName_YYYY-MM-DD-HH-MM-SS.gif

Default export location (can be changed in Settings):

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\GlycoProduction\EmoteLab\Export\

Troubleshooting

Export Won't Start/Failed

  • Check animation is playing: Ensure an animation is playing
  • Check export folder: Ensure the export folder path is valid and writable
  • Check disk space: Ensure you have enough disk space

Export Takes Too Long

  • High-resolution, frame-rate exports can take very long.
  • Reduce resolution: Lower the width and height
  • Reduce frame rate: Lower the FPS setting
  • Limit frame count: Set a Max Frame Count limit
